Russian troops launched a one-and-a-half tonne bomb at the village of Monachynivka in the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region.
According to Serhiy Bolvinov, head of the National Police Investigation Department in Kharkiv region, the Russians equipped the FAB-1500 with a special module, so the bomb could plan its route in the air after being launched from an aircraft.
"It was the first time that weapons of this power were used against us. Everything around us trembled as if an earthquake had started. An entire street was destroyed in one blow," Bolvinov wrote.
He said that in this village (an hour's drive from the contact line), there were no more than a hundred locals left and not a single soldier.
"The only thing they managed to achieve was to destroy the villagers' houses and kill an 88-year-old woman. Her body was taken out of the rubble after the strike," Bolvinov said.
