Three Russian servicemen will stand trial for the dismemberment of a farmer "Vuyko" and mass robberies of civilians in Kharkiv Region, the regional prosecutor's office has said.
Two servicemen of the 7th separate motorised rifle regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, Vitaly Poddubny and Ruslan Goncharov, also a member of the 202nd motorised rifle regiment of the aggressor country, who were identified by Ukrainian law enforcers in December 2023, during the occupation of Izium and Kupyansk districts, repeatedly took property from local residents, threatening to shoot them.
The invaders used the car exclusively for their own purposes and even managed to get into an accident because they were in an inebriated state. On 31 July, they drove the same car to a farm in the village of Bezymyannoye in Kupyansk district, which belonged to a man with an active pro-Ukrainian position who was born in Transcarpathia. His fellow villagers called him "Vuyko".
Poddubnyy got out of the car and told the owner of the farm to approach him under the pretext of helping him repair his car. When the farmer approached him, the occupant shot him in the head. The man fell to the ground and died on the spot.
The accused then dismembered the body of the murdered man, put a part of it in the car the occupants came in and set it on fire. To hide the crime, they took the severed parts of the farmer's body and threw them on the road in the village of Vishnevoye in Kupyansk district.
Law enforcers also established two more episodes of criminal activity of the occupants. They stole a boat motor from a dacha co-operative society, which they later sold. Also the accused took possession of vehicles of the enterprise. To overcome the resistance of the guards, they ordered them to lie face down on the ground. In case of disobedience, they threatened to shoot them.
"The accused are now wanted. They will be tried in absentia in the Ordzhonikidze district court of Kharkiv. The two accused face imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years, "Fanat" - life imprisonment", - reported in the Prosecutor's office.
